A key economic sub region within the North West and the wider North of England, Lancashire’s leading national and regional position in relation to Aerospace, Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy and Higher Education Institution excellence make it a pivotal part of the long-term sustainability and expansion of the North’s economy.
By transforming growth across the North of England and establishing the Northern Powerhouse, cities and towns across the North will become better connected to create the equivalent of travelling around a single global city. This means targeting innovation, skills and supply chain solutions to maintain, grow and attract investment. Lancashire, as a national centre of excellence in Advanced Manufacturing, is maximising its clear competitive strengths and capabilities with internationally renowned companies attracting and supporting strong supply chains.
